About The Sheepadoodle, Mini / Sheepdog-Poodle:

A Sheepadoodle is a cross of the Old English Sheepdog and a Poodle. They are very good natured, very gentle, and friendly. They are calm and loving and will welcome all. They, by instinct, are excellent watch dogs and guardians. They will take a few years to get out of the puppy stage. A Sheepadoodle will bark to ward off what it thinks is a threat, you will want to discourage this. Socialization at an early age is recommended, they will be friendly to any child, visitor or other animal that it knows. A Sheepadoodle will protect its family when necessary, even at the cost of its life. They are very loving to their family, especially children, and to the other pets within the family. Because they are large dog they will need some exercise outside the house, a good run in the back yard or a nice walk around the block. They love the outside especially in the winter, the cold does not even bother them. They are not an overly active dog, but they still need a little exercise and do enjoy an occasional romp in the backyard. They would rather go hiking on a trail with you than a run in the park. They are very trainable, they want nothing more than to please its master, and they are very sensitive to the tone of its trainers voice. Your training should be calm, consistent, and patient. They are very obedient when trained. Since they are used to open pasture, they may want to run, leash training is a must. Grooming will require a combing several times a week with a hard comb or pin brush. This will control the hair. They may need to go to the groomers on occasion. In my opinion, if you like big dogs, these guys cant be beat!!!
