About The Olde English Bulldogge:

The Olde English Bulldogge is an attempt to "breed back" the English Bulldog as it appeared in the early 1800?s but with a milder personality. There is a high percentage of English Bulldog in them, that is the short and stocky one. To give them the height and length that we now see they also have a little bit of American Bulldog and Pit Bulldog in them as well. Don't worry these guys are not even close to aggressive or even considered so. The original Bulldog comes to us from England where they were used for bull baiting, a popular gambling sport at the time. A Bull is affectionate and has an uncomplicated personality. They are gentle, despite their size, intelligent and a little on the sensitive side. They don't like to do wrong and they don't like to be scolded. They are fearless when defending their owner, family or property. If you're looking for a watchdog that might make an intruder think twice, this might be it. They are known for their loyalty to their family. With their family they have a happy-go-lucky attitude. They are happiest at your side but may misbehave if ignored. They are active, alert and playful but not overly boisterous. A Bull is very good with children and other pets. A word of caution however, they have no idea how big and strong they really are, so supervision is a must. They will not intentionally hurt their family but accidents may happen. Their activity level will need more than just play around the house. They will need playtime outside also. If they get bored, they can get destructive. Give them plenty of interactive toys and things to chew on. They are highly trainable with a strong desire to please their owner. Simply because of their size and their strength puppy classes would be recommended. These guys will pull you over in a walk if they do not know how to properly walk on a leash. Their short coat is simple to handle. Use a curry brush to pull out any dead hairs several times a week. The quality of food will also keep down shedding. DO NOT use food with corn as an ingredient. This tends to cause food allergies and may dry out the skin causing the hair to break and fall out. A Bull is known for having skin issues. Always feed a natural food, its simply better for the dog. If you have never had the pleasure of owning a Bull, I cannot begin to tell you what you are missing. This is an unbelievable dog!
