About the Yorkie-Poo:

A Yorkie Poo is a mix between a Yorkshire Terrier and a Toy Poodle. The Yorkie-poo does not shed and will be good for most allergy cases. This is one of the most popular designer mixes. They are very loving and happy and will want to be with their family and their favorite owner. They are also brave and fear nothing, they are very intelligent, as both parent breeds are. They are alert and cheerful. They will want to be a part of the family and make a great companion dog and napping buddy as well. They will get along well with older children and other pets. Socialization when they are young is recommended. Younger children will need to be supervised with a young and small pup. These little ones are not toys to be carried around like baby dolls. Their coat will be wavy and very soft. They will need combed out with a hard comb or pin brush a couple times per week. A slicker brush will make them to fuzzy so we don't recommend this type of brush. They will need a professional grooming about every 8 to 12 weeks to keep them looking good. Training should be fairly easy because of the intelligence of the Poodle; Yorkies can have a little stubborn streak sometimes though. Training should be consistent and direct. Keep it positive with words of praise and a few treats help get the point across. They will not require an abundant amount of exercise. Running through the house along with a short romp in the yard will be enough. Long walks will not be necessary since many people put them in a purse! They will however enjoy going outside with you to do some yard work. These little ones are well suited for an apartment or small house. This is a big dog in a little package. This is a good choice for the first time owner. This can be your little buddy!!
